Having a hell of a time setting the end play on an S5.

Here is what I have.

New thrust Bearings measuring out to .0775 each

K spacer, however, it mesures out to .3165 (Y?)

thrust plate (upper) at .038

bearing housing at .1135

thrust plate (lower) at .116

As I said the bearings are new and the balance of the parts are in near new shape. I have triple checked the installation.

I am getting an end play of about .0051-.0052

With the above setup no spacer will work to bring the end play in line. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Ok your telling us you have 5 thousands of end play. being way to much. Just check the letter on the spacer that you are using now and go to the next smaller one and repeat as you'll find the proper end play. .0025 is Ideal or better yet perfect. Try the V spacer is smaller

Judge

thanks,

I did the math and it seems to not work out, but I believe the y or z will work. Ordered all just to have around. Should have just done so in the first place

By the way, wicked nice intake!

I've just finished my 13B and after having the end and middle plates skimmed, found that I had next to no endplay at all. So I bought each of the larger spacers from Mazda and just tried each one until I got an endplay of 25 thou. This was from the next spacer up.

Cheers

Well the math didn't add up but a Z spacer did the trick, now at .0017. Nice and tight!!!
