Ok I'm rebuilding my T2 engine and after installing the new bearings and putting it back together I get no lateral play at all. So after finding this out I disassembled the engine to try and figure out what I had done wrong and couldn't find anything out of place ect.

Nothing has been lapped or resurfaced... any suggestions?

Could one of the thrust bearings fallen down acting like a thicker spacer? Look at them closely for any denting.

Are all of your bearings in all the way?

Well I messed around with it at lunch and found that is binding no the front stationary gear bearing. Whats odd is that is only binding on the very front for the bearing, like the last 1/4 or so. When I go to put it back on it will go 3/4 of the way on then get very hard to move the rest of the way. The only thing I can think of is that I mushroomed the front of the bearing when I pressed it in. Theres a .01 difference in the diameter from the back to the front.

Guess I only have myself to blame.
