well..its definatly a dog compared to my SS and I consider my car slow...and for a weight savings of what..maybe 300lbs? I bet my car could take it in the handlng department too. I think its just over priced for what you get...its a balanced car, but for the price...you could get a evo rs for a lil more and have a way more balanced car, better handling and acceleration.

or you could get a srt and do a lil suspenion work and have a faster car and jsut as good handling one...for less.
Excuse me, I didn't mean to laugh out loud at this comment.. Ok, so first off I assume you're talking about an SS Camaro? Second, an Evo.. lol, have you ever driven one of those? They're certainly not in the same category, and they're uncomfortable to boot. Saying you could mod an SRT kinda is totally irrelevant to the argument. The discussion is based on stock cars. SRT's make significant torque steer.. And they're hideous. not only that, but it's in a totally different category of vehicle. Also modding the car really defeats the purpose of buying a new one. Hell, if we follow your logic, a potential RX8 owner is probably best off spending the exact same amount of money on a Lotus 7 replica.

The point is, there's many cars that beat the 8 in many categories. People buying the 8 are in the market for a F/M-R configuration with two doors and a warranty. They're after a certain sense of style, luxury, status, capability and comfortability.

I guarantee that a $2,000 Dodge Caravan with $33k in mods would be 'faster' than the RX8. Does that make it a better car? Not in my book.

OMG Lookie at Sinful defend the 8. Did you end up getting one?

The only people that buy them for status are the 30-40 year olds I know that want to feel young.

I just think they aren't worth the price...and I'll reiterate my vote for the Lexus IS series...

Nope, I want a 350Z.

Maybe there's also the 20-somethings that want an uncommon, yet versatile car in their stable?

Yeah.. The IS is where it's at. Thank god for that car and bringing altezza taillights to mainstream culture.

OMG, I just had a thought.. Everyone should sell all their cars and go out and get a yamaha R1. Why in gods name would I say that? Well! It will out handle, out accelerate and all-around outperform basically every car on the road. It gets 30MPG, you can find parking anywhere, it qualifies for most HOV lanes across the country.. That's basically the best vehicle for the money, period.. And it's cheaper than the 'busa.

okay... lol at what part of my comment...doesn't mazda try to advertise this as a sport car with the whole zoom zoom ads and ****. How is a evo not in the same catagory...is my ss not? 2 doors, 4 seats good handling, lots of power and really comfortable....for less. My point about the srt4 is that I buy a car to have fun in, i've driven an srt4..its more fun than a rx8 and quicker, i've also driven stock and upgraded evos....lots more fun and not as uncomfortable as you make it.

i'm gonna go down on PhoenixDownVII....the car isn't worth a damn..its to expensive for what you get in my eyes.

Yeah.. whereas a camaro isn't worth $1,000 in my eyes. I guess I'll agree to disagree here.
