The Z3 was an overpriced Miata, we all know that, but what does that have to do with your opinion that E39 M5s are the worst quality car ever? Hmm?

And you make a big deal about $2000 work orders. It was an $80k car new, what do you want? Proportionately, that works out to about a $200-250 repair on an Accent, give or take. Are you whining about that? When you want more, you pay more.

Far be it for me to call you a liar, but dude, come on. You said you worked at Kia or Hyundai or something, and you honestly expect me to believe that you have boxes and boxes of M5 work orders laying around. Not a chance of me believing that, now or ever. Sorry.

I understand your argument, and you make some very good points, and while I'm not a Bimmer fan, I don't have anything in particular against them. However, this is a rotary forum and you're going to be dealing with almost nothing but people interested in nothing else (myself included) so your argument is automatically not going to carry as much weight as it would on, say, BMWforums.com. I myself understand that because of how diverse people are, people are going to have different tastes, so I don't argue the superiorities of a rotary with any piston head who doesn't ask first. But, again, because you're presenting your argument on a rotary-specific forum, you should expect (and possibly respect) every person who presents their counter-points.

If you'll notice my conversation with Sinful, it was very respectful regarding the 8 and it's pros and cons. You might have also noticed that initially, my point was a comparison between the 8 and FDs like mine. The M5 comment was just a joke until Teknics boy decided he knew all there is to know about BMWs.

However, I don't know if I'm going to put much stock in the opinion of a Hyundai mechanic when it comes to a car that I drive everyday.

As I said, you present very good points and I mean no ill-will to anyone with any comments or arguments I make. Last thing I'd want is to be one of the "lucky few" on here who everyone's divided on whether they like or not.

Hyundai mechanic? Son youve got me confused with someone else. I work on rich peoples car, 6 days a week, 65 hours a week. Z06's, porsche, bmw, throwback cars, pretty much everything. Hell I dont even WORK on hyundais.

And a $2k ticket for an M5, is the beginning. We've lined our pockets nicely, numerous times with BMW owners.

Oh and for your information, I am 1-step away from "Master Auto Tech" in my ASE rankings, I've passed all the tests except one, and thats because I didnt take that test yet....I'm only 21, and passed all the other tests on my first shot. Directly out of schooling I was enrolled in the BMW Step program where i was trained by BMW for BMWs, oh and I was paid by BMW to be there. I decided they sucked once i left the program, without evenm asking for their job placement, and went and did my own thing. And on an unrelated note I've also gone to Audi/VW's training program for their cars as well.

Seriously, when i say i know what im talking about....it's cause i do.

I can call off cars a lot worse then an M5, and im far from saying the M5 was the worst car quality ever....I'll give it one thing...it takes them a while to start leaking oil...porsches practically come from the factory leaking. VW/Audi, now theyre close to the worst quality cars ever...everything falls apart and all the "little clips" that break are like $500...and only available from the dealer. Oh that and the whole "engine sludge kills the motors and then VW refuses to cover it under warranty after only like 20k miles"

I actually havent run into too many 350Z's which is a good sign...the only one i ran into some idiot kid ran into a curb, smashed open his oil pan then decided to drive it home anyway....30-40 miles...he seized the motor.

but anyway, dont get all touchy about your car, all cars have their downsides, I just get to stare at them all day.

kevin.

oh and your posts are funny, first your like "i think he works for kia"...then 2 posts later "IM NOT TAKING A HYUNDAI MECHANICS WORD FOR ANYTHING"...jesus, try asking next time?

the 2001-2004? M5 is THE WORST quality car ive ever seen, and i used to work at a kia dealership.

Perhaps that's who/what you were referring to SilverSeven?

Tecknique's, watcha think of most Lexus'ss? Who would you put on top, reliability wise? Honda/Acura, Toyota/Lexus, perhaps then Subaru/Nissan?

My Suby's been pretty good so far, if Toyota/Honda made a decent competitor to the WRX though, I'd opt for them.

It would be really cool if I could afford the new IS250 AWD someday, I think they come in manual..perhaps?

Yea, but there are easy solutions to the taillight issue.
