I also got a '79-'82 (serviceable, small flange) driveshaft that somebody had already swapped in some GMB U-joints. I painted it up today and it's looking pretty good. That's gotta be nice. I can't wait to get a set of aftermarket springs for mine. It's way too soft. I'm thinking either Racing Beat or Eibach. Even the rear springs will work, according to steve84gs. I'll still have to come up with spacers for the front springs though, since the front was really low with the 13B in it.
As for the angle iron and sheet metal, I think that's how the aussies do their RX-3s. I'll probably have to send a few PMs if I can't figure mine out.

My friend's '81 FB rides and handles quite well with RB springs and 185 70 R13 tires. Even with the slightly extra weight of a 5" SC on a 13B ('74 rotor housings, Y side plates, aggressive streetport, '86 rotors, aluminum flywheel), it's fine. Of course the 13B itself is lighter than the stock 12A the car came with lol.
I'd say anything with a higher spring rate would be an improvement on my car. Too squishy. It needs shocks too. I'll have to get some Tokico Illumas or whatever the adjustable ones are called.

The 20B is back in the engine bay. This time, it's got a flywheel and clutch installed. A bit trickier to deal with the extra length, but once it's in position, I found it to be not any more difficult to mate to a tranny than a 13B. Everything else leading up to it was the hard stuff.

It's too long to even fit on the flange.
I guess I'll need to have it shortened. Maybe a 1/2" ought to do it because 10mm seems a little too short if you know what I mean. It's also easier for the driveshaft guy to figure it out.
