Yeah, I've seen it. The engine is mounted vertically. You can see there is an oil line to replace the pickup tube. It's like a dry sump setup. It's propane powered too.

So Dave Atkins tried to sell you a Holley Projection and a 9" SC? I may get one some day, but I don't trust the apex seals. I'll rebuild the engine before considering a SC. They cost like $3k.

I got some important measurements on a 5" SC today. The intake manifold itself without the SC sticks out 8 1/16" (or 20.5cm) from the engine. The SC adds at least another 2". The length from the tranny bellhousing to the rear runner is 20mm. Bellhousing to the SC mounting flange on the manifold is 60mm. The SC and carb square bore adaptor total height from the manifold to the bottom of the carb is approx 6 3/4".

This means I can use the 20B manifold if it's basically the same dimensionally as the 5" (that's if the 5" manifold can fit in the car, and I think it can). It also means I can have a carb spacer up to 6 3/4" tall for better AF mixture flow into the rotors. It also leaves it open to a supercharger in the future, should I ever choose to go that route.

Is it a rotary mower? Back in highschool we had a bran new single rotor push mower engine sitting up stairs that probably hasn't seen the light of day in 15 years. Man I wished I ganked that. my 2-stroke suzuki would so be off the toro and that would soo be on

I know! The thought alone is almost too much!

I currently have a 13B with RB light steel flywheel and a slightly messed up pilot seal. Instead of waiting for a week to get a new one, I think I'll toss it in the GLC as-is so I can finally get it running. I figured I'm only gonna put like 20 miles on it with the 13B in there, since it's scheduled to go into my MG. The pilot seal is missing a small piece of the outer lip. The inner lip is fine. I've seen seals like this before. Hmm, maybe I can pick up one tomorrow... Either way, it's no big deal.

Ok, since I can't afford an Atkins manifold right now, and I need to test fire the engine before installing it, this makes the most sense. I also have that 225mm disc and p plate waiting for RB's longer bolt set, to go on the 20B, along with another flywheel. I already have a 215mm disc and p plate and a stock bolt set that'll work on the 13B.

Yeah, 13B first for simplicity. Geez, I keep doing this to myself lol.

Oops, I meant I'm borrowing another flywheel. Tee hee. I've gotta buy another one as soon as I can afford it, along with the manifold.

Ok, I measured the car and it looks like an Atkins manifold will fit with a few mm to spare. Hey, that sounds familiar. Oh yeah, that's how I got the 13B and bottom mounted starter tranny to fit in the MG!

Get it inspected while the 13b is in there then swap in the monster motor
