I need something that has no oil filter mount on it, but still has the oil line fitting/threaded NPT hole. A set of oil pressure and temp holes would be nice, but probably not necessary. Maybe just a pressure fitting if that one on the rear plate is wrong.
Speaking of sensors and fittings, I have a Mazda straight thread to NPT tapered thread adaptor. It was going to go on one of my engines for a specific project, but that project has changed. I also have a drilled and tapped banjo bolt with a broken fitting that could be removed with an easy-out or whatever they're called. I've got a couple of others, but I won't clutter up the thread.
I have an FD plastic gas pedal. I think I could install it in the GLC if necessary.
Back to the radiator. I figured out where to trim the side mounting flange so it will fit up under the front shroud. It's still a little tall for my taste, but it should fit with enough ground clearance to be safe. The lower radiator hose may get in the way of stuff. Gotta get out there and see.

I had to deal with some crap (non rotary related stuff), so I couldn't get to the project today. All I was able to do was figure out that the lower radiator hose will probably fit ok. Just gotta trim about an inch from one side to get it up there and see. The lower section will stick down pretty low; almost dangerously low, but I've seen some FMICs that are down pretty low and they seem to be ok. Yes, an SA rad would be better, but I have this thick bumper in the way, so the extra length below the bumper has a straight shot of air. I don't think I'll try to fit an air dam, 'cause then it would remove the sleeper aspect I'm going for.
It looks like I won't be getting any more money untill my piston car sells, or untill after the 12th of August, which ever comes first.

i've been keeping up with it, you're more planned out than i was expecting.
on my fc i lowered my oil cooler and its pretty low, but its been fine. i'm even thinking about putting the ic pipes down there too

Thanks guys. Man, I guess I'm now at the edge of the field or however the saying goes. This is where it'll start to get interesting for me. It's where the thoughts of ruining a perfectly good radiator and firewall/tranny tunnel start to creep in. I know I'll need to crack a few eggs to make an omelet, but youch!
That ZLAKLR guy hasn't gotten back to me yet. I'm on my own as far as being the first to ever do this type of a project. I think it's the most underpowered Mazda vehicle to ever get a 20B (1.2L boinger stock). There are several Miatas with 20Bs in them, so that's not new. Quite a few older RX cars have them too. But there's never been a 20B powered GLC before.
Thanks Mike for the info. The bottom of the radiator will be as low as the 13B oil pan I think. It will make using my floor jack interesting.
As far as planning goes, I have a very low failure rate. I never jump into something without at least some planning beforehand.
Racer X, when the 13B was in there, it looked like the radiator would need to be attatched to the AC condensor bracket because there was very little space in front of the waterpump for a radiator. Since the 20B will be using the same front motor mount, this still applies. It will probably fit ok. I'm glad my electric fan isn't very thick from front to back. Since I've never seen a stock engine in one of these cars, I have no idea how they were setup. Hopefully, it will all work out somehow.
You know what? I really should put another mockup 13B together for this car like I did for my MG. That would give me some ideas of how the radiator and 20B will fit. Maybe I'll build it today and try to get it in there soon.
