Haha several hours have passed! Ok, it's time to tell you. I got an Edelbrock 750CFM carb, and two aluminum V8 valve covers. I've got two fuel pumps on backorder. The poor guys at Summit must think I've got a V8 or something. Heh, as if!
The valve cover will be used as a box plenum as mentioned earlier in this thread. The intake manifold is really tall and will need to be shortened so the hood will close. I'm just waiting for the flywheel and the rest of the parts from Mazdatrix to get here so I can do it to it.

It'll be really simple. A valve cover on the stock lower intake manifold with a piece of flat aluminum stock between them. The carb will sit on the valve cover with a spacer between. I'll need the LIM cut and welded soon, but for testing purposes, I'll leave it stock at first.

That could work, but welding inside the tube would be tough unless it was sliced in two pieces, welded to the runners, and then welded back together. I'm sure the tube would flow better, but I'd like to give this valve cover idea a try. ![](https://www.nopistons.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR)
I asked SPRT (it was his idea after all) and he said to go ahead and run the adaptor as a proof of concept. Then, after it's running, I'll go ahead and exchange it for a 1" carb spacer (square bore) and have it welded on the valve cover when my LIM is getting shortened and welded.
It'll be a two phase project:
1) get it running as a bolt-on installation.
2) spend some money on welding after getting it running
