I had a t-62-1 with 1.0 exhaust, 0.7 comp, on a P trim and it had great low end power, and a **** load of power after 4k rpms that pulled forever.

Well with any luck, hopefully im going to be spinning a 1. ex a/r with a mild ported exhaust and half bridge (or large street .. havent decided yet) intake port. I expect full boost around 5k ... seems like thats where most people get full boost. Looking at tuning logs and hear say.
You should expect sooner with a 1.0. I remember IGY saying his P trim 1.15 housing on a streetport/exhaust port reaches boost at 4500 rpms. I have an HKS wheel(bigger than a "Q" trim) with a 1.04 and I reach boost at 5000~ with a streetport/exhaust port.

that certainly brings a smile to my face haha

Ive been entertaining the idea of a little "spool kit" to help it along. You have any experience with large turbos + nitrous?

No nitrous(via legal means) on the island of Okinawa. What will you be shifting at?

at what rpm do you make full boost of 15lbs on your singe turbo rx7?

i am asking for a friend that is about to make a serious mistake on his fc project.

also if anyone has dyno graphs handy that would be cool.

this guys car is not going to be a drag car and he's talking about getting a t66 or a 62-1 for what would basically be a street car. the lag and power below 5k rpm are going to suffer severely, right?

i am particularly interested in dyno graphs of a to4s VS a t66. (both on normal unported motors)

thanks,

-steve
your friend puts a a/r .84 exhaust housing on either of those turbo's he won't have much boost lag and it will run great. I would suggest the 60-1 because it's cheaper, but the 62-1 will also work well but is a little more expensive for very little gain. Both of those turbo's use a standard shaft and are cheaper to overhaul.. The T66 uses a big shaft and the large A/R compressor housing can cause fitment problems on some manifolds. The big shaft turbo is also more expensive to overhaul and the turbo costs more than 2 times as much as the 60-1. The price of the T-66 would make it cost ineffective for use on a stock ported motor, especially one that won't be raced much even though you can make it spool just fine.
