I am just wondering what everyone esle would do. It is the last autocross this weekend and I am wanting to run at it. I was just wondering what everyone esle would do. The motor was rebuilt by me and the only thinks that were used when I put it back toghter was the side housings and rotors. Everything esle is new. Also it is a NA. Thanks

Well If the motor was built correctly and all specs were followed, beat the **** out of it. What people need to realize that honestly "motor break in" is kinda BS. Sure back 30-40 years ago rebuilt motors, and even new cars had a break-in period. This was only becouse they did'nt really have the technology nor the desire to mass produce an engine at a precision level. When new cars are built now all they do is fire it up to make sure it runs. When you buy a new car with like 3 miles on it the dealer won't tell you to baby it for 1000 miles, becouse today's engines are built to tight tolerances. Same goes with a rebuilt rotary. I know motors that were built, fired up, and then do a burnout down the block with no problems. Yes you will want to change the oil rather quickly when you rebuild an engine to remove any assembly lube residue, or any forign matter you may have missed during the rebuild, but that's it. If you build an engine observing all the specs and clearance/wearout measurements you have nothing to worry about. except for maybe a defect in a replacement part, but that can happen at anytime, regardless of how the engine was built

Like I say "better to be safe then sorry" rebuilds are exactly cheap.

I Autocrossed mine when it had around 2500 miles on the engine and about 700 on a new clutch. I beat on it pretty good and it held up just fine. But if you don't feel comfortable with it right now you can always just waite like the others said. But if you do go, take some pics for us :bigok:
