I have a 90 gxl with a blown motor, cracked rotor housings to be specific. I just got my hands on a 88 non-turbo car that has been wrecked but has a good motor. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what would be involved in putting the motor from the 88 in the 90. I know that the series 5 motor in the 90 and the series 4 motor in the 88 are different but since I have the complete car I can swap any parts needed. I was also wondering if there are any parts I should but on the 88 motor that are on the 90 motor, such as the intake. If anyone has any information on this engine swap and could help me I would greatly apreciated.

Thanks,

Noel

Heres the S5 parts you'll need to make a straight swap:

Upper and lower intakes......just easier to swap both as a unit

Fuel injectors

Front cover so you can use the stock OMP

Other wise you should be good to go.Let us know how it goes.

O your using the stock S5 intakes then it uses the stock wiring then.Makes for a easy swap. But the extra wires are nice to have if something fries up on you or you need to fix a harness.
