once upon a time long time ago mazda did make aluminum side plates, but since mazda is so broke they had to stop production and make them iron.

mazda needs to put a 20b in the rx8, all the rx8 had to do to have a successful sports car is beat the 350z, the rx8 is already better then the 350z at everything except speed, the 20b renesis is a natural motor that should have been in the rx8.

and mazda should also come out with a new model, an rx3? for the smaller chassis that they can use the 13b renesis in, with no extra options to keep the price down

too bad this will never happen as mazda ***** are in fords hands

I don't know about it not working...if you have demand for a car, the obvious thing to do is make it. (Or at least make it close to what people want.) I agree that if the RX-8 surpassed the 350z in that coveted straight line speed, it would become much more popular. How they would go about accomplishing that is a whole other beast. I'd love to see a 20b production car hit American shores, but I think they'd go about it like they did with the Cosmo, Grand Tourer, not sports. Hell, all Mazda really needs to do to boost the sells of the RX-8 would be just that: boost. Get the REW system used in Spirit Rs (I believe they were a helluva lot more reliable) and throw it to it. Mazda really needs to hear what the people want and make it happen. The rotary engine is starting to pique a lot of people's curiosity again, they just need to give the people at least FD capability once more in a production car.

Why? They are already selling more cars than they can make. A 20B model would just weigh them down, what with the re-engineering involved and the gas guzzler taxes and the probable lack of people willing to buy.

I see a lot of RX-8s on the roads and none at the dealerships. The opposite is true of the 350Z. I would say Mazda knows what they are doing at this point.

I have understood that he sold it.

Today, the car no longer exists, sold it in "separated parts".
