if you can't afford an FD you can't afford to own one.

Jims5543 I'm from Greece. Here the FD's are very rare and that's why their price is very high....

illrida1300 I thought the same thing with you.To buy this one here and buy one new from the usa. So i would have the clear title and the plates. Because otherwise it costs 40.000 to import and fd here. But this story needs to change the numbers on the chassis and is an expensive story and i dont know anybody that can done it, so perfect to be unrecognised from the police...i guess...

Dramon you are right but i'm gonna steal one at the end if i don't buy one , i see it every night in my dreams man

Wow! Sheds a whole new light on the term "collector car"

Well if this is the only way to get an FD and it be affordable, go for it!

My friend bought a house that a dude killed himself in. No one wanted to buy it and the bathroom was, well pretty messed up. He fixed up the entire house added a swimming pool and fancy roof as well as a lot of tile inside and marble. Hesold that house and made over 150,000 us dollars on it.

So my advise to you.

Get over the death in the car and try do make it work for you.

Good luck. If you need any parts let us know maybe it will be cheaper if we ship them over as "gifts" to you in Greece.

Someday I will visit there.... after Italy of course. I need to visit where my family is from, Napoli.

Good Luck!!

Why would you have to import one from the states? There are Rx-7's in Europe. Fixing up cars is expensive - the formula I used for my car is budget for everything you can think of and multiply it by 1.5 - and I'm barely going to be able to stick to it.

Jim thanks.Btw you should come is magic here especialy on our islands. I wan to travel to italy to. Everything is there beatiful women, Ferrari's , lamborghinis, Gucci, Armani and pasta mmmm But nothing compares with our night life here in Greece If you ever need more info just say it.

Mark after research i have made the USA is the cheapest country to buy a left wheel drive Rx-7. It's a little complicated matter. See how things are: Greece is member of the Europian union for many years. Between the countries members of the Eu the exhange of goods and also for cars is free. But we violate this rule. Only for cars. We as Greeks pay a big fine on the countries of the EU for violating this rule. But because the goverment earns so much money every year for the tariffs it puts on new cars imported doesn't respect this law and prefers to pay the fine. Also as much older is the car the highest the import tariff is. To import and FD from USA of year 93 i need 30.000 when i will import a Honda S-2000 of year 2002 i need 8.000 $. To undestand the difference, here if i go to a Honda dealer i have to pay to buy a Honda S-2000 50.000 euros. When in your country cost around 26.000 euros to buy a new one... As you can see this difference is not because Honda gives differnt prices but because we have the importation tarifs...

So that's why i though to buy an FD from USA "strip it" and just change the VIN number on the chassis with this FD here the crached one if it could be done .... To avoid the importation tarifs. But as u understand this illegal stuff and ...

I hoped i covered your question and didnt make you to get sleepy

In my country an s2000 is actually 60,795 euros, I'm not as far away as you think

I see what you are saying, Ireland is the same - If I want to import a car from somewhere else in europe where they are cheaper, it'll cost me just as much because I get landed with Vehicle Registration Tax. The Irish government is too corrupt to go paying fines like that - they let you import the cars fine, but as soon as you go to register it, they land you with this tax which is up to 25% of the cars value - great huh?

We have to pay because when we import the car from Japan or England, it's still registered as a Japanese car, meaning it can't be driven on Irish roads. You have to change the registration from Japanese to Irish and that's where they charge you all the money.
