I meant a 5.0 (GT) BODY with a 351 block INSIDE the engine bay. My mistake..

We know what you meant....What else were you supposed to call it an LX with a 351?

provided that I could build my 7 to hang with his 5.0, I would have to spend about triple the money.
I guess all you've proved is that to go fast with taste and style it costs more, what a revelation.

I always run across the same two 5.0's on my daily drive to work, I have yet to get them to play. I dont see them every day, but when I do I have to jack. No luck yet, I hope they grow up some day and get some *****.

If you ask me, both cars could be equal, the mustang has 3x the engine size, and, who can resist the feeling of a little boost in the rpm range?

My uncle has a fox-body 5.0 that will run circles around N E thing a 7's got.

Man for your 6'th post your sure talkin a lot of **** on 7's. I wonder how much you really know about a FD. 1'st off i'll take my FD and whoop your uncles 5.0, And second i'll put 90% of the FD's people own on this fourm up to your 5. You wouldent have half a chance. And the 3x more to mod it out that way. Last time i checked super chargers were no cheaper than a turbo! You show me slips and times and quite blown smoke then we'll talk.

WTF?!

first off for all those who happen to HATE ford, remember who owns mazda... for me, i hate fords, but for the money and investment in mods, the fb stangs are great. as for the race, i think the lx stang has a better rear end ( depending on what condition ) and will hold traction better. there are a lot of things to listen for in a mustang to actually know what the guy is running. people say stock, but are nowhere near it. the tII probablly has more hp vs. a stock stang ( your car not the tII stock ). and when stock fb stangs are somewhat slow as hell. especially with the origional tires 225's if it has 245's or wider he will maintain traction better than most.

if it is a gt mustang ( or has a gt rear end ) it is built to last and will hold traction even with crappy tires.

if all is stock in the mustang ( no exaust mods even ) you will EASILY take him. if he has intake, exaust, and headers then its more even.

as for reliability... i dont usually see the older mustangs being carried away from a race by flatbed ( unless its an 8second car ), the cars that would race are built generally well. and most f-bodied cars are the ones being towed.
