Hey Jim, you said not to try this but I was also intrigued by this swap as I know a lot more about REW's then RE's or BT's. I always planned on getting a TII and keeping it near stock just for a cruise or winter driving. So, I was wandering what this swap actually takes out of you?

What's required to do it besides the engine?

I would just want to the Stock 13B-REW with the stock FD twins (duh) and that stock ECU.

How much money am I looking at with a complete swap?

Srce - What startes to cost money is all the custom stuff.

It would be so much trouble to swap the stock ECU in. Maybe a Power FC. In hindsight that would have been a strong contender. I am of the understanding that a Power FC replaces the stock ECU and will control the twins.

I spent a lot of money on things that were not neccessary.

Motec M-4 - Over $4K

HKS T04E Turbo kit for an FD. - $3,500

The downpipe that came with the T-04E worked perfectly. Then we took a FD Midpipe cut the flanges off trimmed the pipe to match my N-1 catback and welded it back togather.

The water pump and thermostat housing need to be Modded to work with a FC radiator.

Then you need a FMIC - I bought the Greddy one and didn't like it. So I had one made by turbonetics. $700 custom piping will run you another $400 or so.

I can get a cradle made for you I just have to harrass the hell out of my mechanic freind who made mine. He has a template to make more its just a matter of getting him to make time to make them.

Bah! my brain hurts. Did I cover it all? Ask if you need more info.

REW is a strong engine. You have so many aftermarket parts that you need already. Plus you have Ito so your set. This will not cost you much.

Well, a PFC wouldn't be so much trouble for me. I was thinking about spending somewhat around a thousand dollars for the car, engine less, and maybe another 4K for the engine and install.

If I could cover the engine, front mount, PFC, and all the rest of the stuff to get it going with 4K, then that is very reasonable for me. Please tell me I'm not dreaming if I think that that might work. All I want is a TII with a REW. LOL

I'd say that if he adds another $1-2K to that figure he should be ok, as long as he does everything on his own and makes a few parts.
