Wow, those are some engine mount! How much did it cost to fabricate? Couldn't you just gotten the k2rd engine mounts? Or was your custom job cheaper?

C
the K2rd mounts are for a 2 rotor cosmo not fd engine into an fc

NICE, how did the other side look???
I will post the pic tonight. The other side is the same straight out of the i/c to the intake.

I had the piping come in on the bottom on the turbo end and out on the top on the intake end so the whole intercooler is involved in cooling the flow.

Did I mention I have 5' of leftover piping from the greddy kit??

Does anyone know where I can get the piping made?? If I could get the piping made I could mass produce this I/C. I feel like its a lot better then the greddy one. Firstly it does not block off your brake ducts.

I can get the Intercooler made for a decent price. I paid $700 for the I/c now I just need to find a source for the piping and we are set.

Pic later of the other side.

The intake side. We cut the hole out where the battery cooling tube ran through.

HI JIM. THANKS FOR GIVING ME THIS THREAD

first off i love your opening line,, if your thinking of doing it dont bother

im right in the middle of doing it and i have asked myself that same question. the amount of money it has cost so far would have bought me a nice modded fd straight off a japanese auction web site. im probably a bit like you though as i dont want to be like every one else. fd's are getting very common over here and although fc's have been modded i havent seen them...

i did make some mounts of my own but am going to modify them today as they are just a bit too high. i could leave it but i thought i would not be happy if i did.

i have got a extended port job done and i have a hks to4e. i will be using the Apexi power fc ecu if for no other reason than there are poeple in england that can map these.

what maniflod are you useing? my one puts the waste gate right in the way of the down pipe. i was going to ADJUST it today as well. you have modded the water pipes on the front of the engine. the bottom one is obvious but did you do the top one because it fouls the bonnet or was it just to re rought the plumming? i havent tried the bonnet on yet

if it works here is a picture of my car

So Jim, what are your views on the 13B Cosmo swap, has anyone on Nopistons done it before?

I also want to be different...I'm in the process of looking for an FB for either a TII or Cosmo swap, I just wanted to gather as much advice as possible!

Remember one thing I spent a lot more money than I needed to to do this swap.

The 13B-RE is a better motor. You canot go wrong.

T2REW- You are smart usinf the Power FC I wish in hindsight I went that route. I was misinformed and thought is was a piggy back that only did fuel and timing. My Motec M-4 is top notch no regrets there.

I'll have to look for a pic of my DP and my WG actuator. It was a really tight fit but it did fit. It sounds like you may have your engine much too high. I'll find a pic tonight.
