I will give you this much advise dont do it. Just buy a FD. This is costing me more than a FD out of the Autotrader.

How about some pics. I'll start with the engine cradle. I had to get this custom made so the FD would mount in the FC mounts.

Next we had to modify the water inlet and outlet to the radiator. I bought a new Fluidyne radiator. The top neck was custom made out of aluminum. The bottom was cut and a piece was welded in place. The heater hose nipple was eliminated as there is one on the radiator. We also took off the pollution pump and custom made a bracket and pulley so the OEM serpetine belt can be used.

Yes that is a To4E I got it from Loi at Sportcarmotion he also set me up with 1300cc secondaries a blow off valve and the fluidyne. This pic shows the wiring for the Motec M-4 as well as the polished intake. The inside has been match ported and the throttle body has been ported as well as the secondary butterflies removed.

Another shot of the engine bay. Thats it for now. I'll post more as she starts to take shape. I was going to install a Greddy FMIC but I do not like the fitiment. I am selling the Intercooler only make an offer. I am having an intercooler custom made that I feel will better compliment this setup and the intended use of this car which is road course racing. I like to beat up Porsches on open track days.

wow, looks good, but the whole point was to have a unique FC right??? anyhow what is that big pulley near your turbo? Is that for the airpump?

Jims5543 01-15-2003 10:35 PM

That pulley was made from scratch along with the bracket. It was used to replace the air pump with having to buy a pulley set. I can still use stock belt.

Jims5543 01-15-2003 10:41 PM

And YES the whole point of this project is to have a very unique "sleeper". That is why I will not slap a radical body kit on this. I dont want anyone to give it a second look.

When I ran an open track day with it no one looked twice at it in the pits. after a 1/2 hour session I had a lot of visitors wanting to know what was up with it. That was with the stock engine and 225RWHP. Imagine the rutkus this car is going to cause with over 350RWHP??

Plus its turning out to be really pretty under the hood. I even cleaned and waxed the engine bay while the engine was out.

Couldn't you have just bridgeported the tII engine and got the same power?

Jims5543 01-15-2003 10:53 PM

Yes I could also turn the boost up to 18 lbs on this setup and get well into the high 400 hp range. I have always been one to tune it a bit lower and keep it alive for a long time. I have never blown an engine.

With all the porting done to this I might be way low with my #'s. I might be able to go well into the 400 RWHP range safely I will find out when we dyno tune the M-4.
