13b Conversion On Hydrofoil
#1
Hi there, looking to purchase a 13b to replace a 102 hp 850 lb diesel on my 28 ft hydrofoil.
What I am not clear on is what parts would be needed to accompany the basic engine if I buy a complete car?
Ie, what and where are the spark components on the rx7 that would need to come along?
I was planning on using as many components from an rx7 as possible including fresh water cooling through a ducted radiator. Also planning on using a stock automatic tranny for the boat as well.
I am hoping to find a jet drive system from a bombardier jet boat to bolt on to the engine as well. Any one know of any compatible jet drives?
Thanks
Robin

Picture attached is not my boat, but one identical to it. Mine has a full canopy with a larger wind screen.
Still hoping for some exact information as too which parts are needed to come with the engine from an rx7 to supply spark etc. Any further computer controlls needed? And it is definately a 13b that I will be putting in, not a 12
thanks again

Well, from an NA or turbo? Here is basically what you would need for an engine to run on an engine dyno.
-The long block from an NA or turbo
-Associated oil and water cooling
-The leading and trailing coils
-Fuel pump
-All associated lines to get fuel to the engine and water to the radiator or whatever you use on a boat
-An engine management system like a Haltech or something similar
So if you are wondering what you need to buy from a junkyard it would be the long block with the stuff attached and the leading and trailing coils
