Twin Turbos
I got skrewed on Ebay, I won an auction for these turbos in the pic and the guy said they are a perfect drop in replacment. I guess their not, looks like I will be trying to get my money back from him. He had pics of them but they looke fine from what I could see, now that I see them in person that crack worried me. My thougths were, "Hmmmmm, looks like the waste gate is not needed, the crack serves that purpose."
yeh man thats propa fucked if you do get another 1 polish it ahrd with braso inside b4 puting it on my m8 did with with all his exaust pips intake and throtel body and he got 6 more rwhp not bad for free
Mine aren't a bas as yours ...but bad enough. Mine still cracks through but a much finer crack. Anyhow, from what i've been told is that it will hold but the weld is stronger then the surrounding section which will get stree cracks. I tried tu purchase the manifold seperately but Mazda won't sell it seperate. I've looked in to a custom stainless manifold running parralell and sharing one external wastegate but so far every place that does custom manifolds won't do it. $3500 for a new set when my turbos are good is freekin Bship! That cash is equal to a T04E complete kit which would run cooler and be more reliable.
I think I am gonna go with efini turbos now. I tried to contact JT- imports but not reply. Maybe he didn't get my e-mail to him. Anyone know his user name? I saw that he sells good used turbos for $525 but are thos the efini or the regular turbos?
The above picture with all the cracks is not the wastegate.
It's called a pre-control valve....used to by pass some exhaust to the 2nd turbo for pre-spool before coming on.
Then again......looking at it I could imagine with the wastegate looks like.
Good thing you sent it back.
