i only put the old plugs back in because they were "like new" i put them in one weekend, at pettit, drove home, drove to HIN and then drove to Fort Myers to take the car apart, almost all highway miles.... anyway i just bought some new bur9eq's.... another guy mentioned to just get 7's for breakin, but i already bought them.....

well i don't think its the plugs. I put brand new ones in and it still wouldn't catch on its own, i had to give it some gas..... maybe it will miraculously go away.



dunno if this is related, or just part of the map, but say if i'm driving a constant 50mph, it will be nice and smooth and then sometime it will just "burp". it'll skip a beat and then go back to normal.... its not a constant thing, and has no pattern, just happens every now and then.

yeah i think its tuning.... before my car was somewhat tuned, it drove like that... any change on my position on the map would cause it to hickup a little, but if i stay on one block on the map it drove fine

Try leaving the key in ignition 2 for a couple of seconds before cranking the motor. Maybe the fuel isn't primed enough.



Give it a try... what i like to do when trouble shooting this type of issue is by putting key in ignition two.. hear the fuel pump prime... key off... put key in ignition two again (hear fuel pump prime), then try starting the car.



if this solves it .. we can at least narrow it down a bit.

I think the fact that he has to 'give it gas' makes it a too-much-fuel problem. He's really not giving it 'gas' so much as opening up the throttle body butterfly valve and letting more air through - enough to get a good mixture.

I think if he had to pump the gas it'd be a different story..

well here's an update.... it decided to fix itself. for the time being, its working just like normal... i don't know if its something electrical or what, hopefully it will continue to work well, but since it fixed itself, at least for now, i can narrow down what its not.
