I got my car back tonight, and everything's pretty much great. From a stop, if I blip the throttle though, the engine will choke/sputter then rev. Any idea why?

And my second problem:

The idle flat out sucks. I know the PFC has the idle smooth learning function that should be done the first time you plug the ***** in, but unfortunately, I dont think my mechanic did it. Is there any way to set JUST that function back to factory defaults with out INIT-ing my whole setup? The engine only has the map uploaded to it by rx7.com when I bought it. We told them all the mods and they formulated it. I havent taken it in for a real dyno session tuning. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance guys.

Josh

Running rich at idle would be my guess. Try some new plugs after you get the idle map leaned out some also. Honestly I would not use any generic maps in my car. I tried that before and it doesn't work well. God only knows what will happen when you get on the boost. You might be better off just running on factory settings until you can get it properly tuned.

So in your opinion, I SHOULD reset the basemap?

I think I know one of the reasons its running crappy, we told rx7.com I'd be running 14psi off the twins non seq, and they made the map for that, but I'm only running 10 right now. Could that be it?

Josh I'd just use the stock map. It should already be setup for basic bolt ons in stock form from what I remember with those ecu's. You're probably super rich. Doesn't really matter if its setup for 14psi or 10psi, as long as you don't run over 14psi.....i can explain better later if you need advice.

Here's some info.

Base stock is to support intake and catback. Base mod is for dp, mp, catback, intake and IC. This is what you need. Version 2.01 is the base stock map and 5.08 is the base mod map. Most recent PFC are version 5.08 which has the base mod map.

I'd take these settings and switch them over to what you need. You will have to enter everything manually. You don't need the car running to set these. Just turn the key to on where it will power the pfc. After entering everything click the key off and then start the car.

You may not have to change much, just fuel. Guess you'll know once you look and compare.

Hey I just called and left you a message. I need help changing the fuel maps, they dont seem to make any sense. I got the IGL and IGT maps changed, there were quite a bit i changed. As far as the IGL-T split, I dont know how to do that either. Hopefully drivability goes up with this.
