Small Oil Leak

how much does a factory gasket cost? also is there a better alternative than the stock gasket?

you can use silicone and the stock gasket

Just use a high quality high temp oil tolerant silicone. I use "Toyota" sealant, which is a grey RTV silicone (O2 sensor safe etc) and have found it to seal perfectly. The paper gaskets ALWAYS end up leaking eventually, especially around the mount bolts on the rear of the pan...



I think Permatex also do a good one which is OEM equivalent to the Toyota sealant and cheaper too. I think you guys get Permatex in the States?

yep that's right where it's coming from. i already have some silicon so that will be my weekend project. thanks guys!
