Im getting a full bodykit soon and was wondering if it would do any damage to the engine if alot of rain water or snow got in my hood. This will help me decide on wether to buy one or not.

I have a mazdaspeed replica hood and the only trouble with the rain is getting waterspots on my polished parts. Other than that never had a problem.

Like Dave said, only problem is the damn water spots. My turbo is polished, and when it gets water on it, the spots are baked in, a royal PIA to get them out

If you really must have riceboy polished bits under your bonnet (I mean hood) then coat them in 2 pac clear. That will stop the staining. 2 pac should resist the heat in the compressor cover.

Maybe...

Much as I take the **** about polishing bits under the hood, I have a polished intake and it will be ColorKromed soon in red- it's a special translucent coating that you spray over polished or chromed metal and give it a tint (choice of colors). POR15 make it. Haven't seen anyone else do it down here. It's a 2-pac finish as well so should withstand the heat...

well, its not everyday that people look under the hood to look at your engine..... plus its not everyday that it rains.... so i dont think it should be any problem polishing your parts sometimes
