Thanks, fellas! Went with the K&N filter (it was readily available, whereas the other weren't, and it seemed like a good choice). Thanks for the info!

I use Castrol GTX 20w50, and OEM filter. I am having second thoughts about the OEM filter though.. We just had a filter discussion a few weeks ago.

Please post the pics. I'm glad you're doing it before my curiosity got the better of me and I did it myself.



Alot of people (rumours) say they are just different labels on big manufacturers. I heard fram is making 'OEM' stuff and also Wix is making them with OEM labels on the casing.



If the inside of the mazda filter is no different from a baseline fram, I won't be using them anymore.

I really doubt mazda makes thier own filters, but we will see how

they are made.



im ordering the filters today, we still wont know who makes them though

No.. But you could figure it out probably using comparison to the filter study. Reasonable doubt anyways.
