Unhappy

im in the middle of putting a new clutch in and when i got it off my flywheel was ragged. so i took off the nut on the end of the eccentric shaft and started to get the flywheel off. it moved prolly bout an eigth of an inch and now it wont move any more. i bought a gear puller hooked it up and that wont move it. im stuck carless with my baby outside in the drive way in pieces. im getting very discouraged and i would appreciate all the help i can get.

how did you get the flywheel off? that is always the hardest part. it's on there with 350lbs + of torque.

anyways. I would maybe just bang away at it with a hammer

You can try prying on it with a crow bar too, but don't overdo it. Just firmly pry around it from different angles.

i got the nut off with an impact wrench but the engine is still in the car so i cant get at the fw at many angels. the eccentric shaft wont turn any more and thats scarry. im hopeing i didnt screw anything up. ive broken a hammer handle on it. the gear puller wont work. i dunno. and yeh freestyle many beers have been consumed while i sat next to the car and pondered how to get it off. thats about the best suggestion ive had so far.heh. i think i might have leaned it uneven one way or another so since its not flush with the shaft it wont come off easily. im bout to get it towed and done professionaly. this is my first rotary and really the first time ive done serious car work. but i appreciate all the help i can get. thank all that have replyed and all that will.

for 5637 miles and then on a rotary lover.

hmmmm....pour a beer ion the flywheel, in the oil filler, and in the gas tank

itll lube **** up real good

have you tried to "push" it back in to normal, and then try again? also, are you working on this alone? get a friend who knows what hes doing with cars to come help out, more people = more options, opinions, hands, and helps keep you sane ---- plus if u need to go out and get something you can use his car
