How do you know that the correction kit does not work? Have you tried it or is this someones hearsay. If it is then who told you that?
Fair question. I don't want to post the name of the person out of respect for him giving me a candid response, but it is a very reputable FD 20b sub frame builder. Their solution is to use a correction kit AND limit the movement of the front shocks as much as possible by using stiff springs. That not a workable for me since it is primarily a street car and the roads in Boston aren't exactly pristine.
Howard's experience is consistent with this opinion

I am not saying that it is not possible to eliminate the problem, but based on the information I had, moving the motor back seemed to be a better solution.
The mice in my head have been going to work on me as to why I do not commit to a 3 rotor motor. So thanks for being candid about your thoughts.
Oh by the way Chris, I like your photo there. That about sums it up I imagine.

The turbo and HKS wastegate arrived from A-Spec today. The Turbo is HUUUUUUGE
i almost shat myself when i saw the turbo because until you click on the photo and are able to see "Verbatim", i thought you had the turbo next to a 45.

The firewall is done and I think Kenny at Conway Autoworks did a great job.
For those of you that remember the original 'attempt' by the other shop, Conway ripped everything out and started from scratch. The new firewall is made out of less pieces, thicker material, and everything is seam welded together. It is also now a lot easier to remove the upper intake manifold, and run vacuum lines to the back of the manifold, and there is now actually room to mount something on the oil filter pedestal.
Nice project. I am doing a 20b also. I was not going to say anything on your first firewall but I am happy to see you got a solid guy to complete it. The new firewall looks great. JR is doing my conversion and he has really worked out some great solutions. He has done a custom subframe, oil pan etc. But I have been waiting for Tial to complete their 60mm for production. I did not know anybody else had one. Thanks for the heads up and I will get back to posting pics soon.
