Ccarlisi/mandeville/ect 20b Street Car Project
Freakin' gorgeous!!! That is beautiful work you are having done. Better to do it right the first time or not at all. I've lived in Japan and I gotta say that the fabrication skills I see in builds over here are usually much much better than in the motherland. OUTSTANDING MAN!!!
Hi Jay:
I am not currently planning on using the SM4. I like the software, but can't get over the closed door attitude of the company and I have been told by very knowledgeable people (ECU hardware engineers) that their hardware is hardly anything special.
I am helping a company (primarily by answering rotary specific questions) that builds ecus and datalogging systems for professional motorsport teams (including F1) develop a rotary engine profile. The ECU costs about as much as a Motec M800 without any extras, but is supposed to be much more powerful. The timing control is very very precise, so it can take full advantage of a high resolution 60-2 trigger wheel setup.
Here are some of the highlights:
-Drive by wire ready
-more aux outputs than on anything else I have seen to date.
-CAN ready
-Traction control that can be trimmed based on shock movement, lateral acceleration, speed, rpm, gear
-2 built in widebands
-2 built in egt amplifiers.
-high amp inductive coil drivers
-stepper motor control (for Oil Metering Pump)
-trim for all inj and ign channels
-the ability to control the stock emissions equipment -not that I care
They have not made a commitment to do it yet, but the scope test data and other information I have received to date looks very impressive. As soon as they decide whether or not to go forward I will give everyone the full rundown.
