hello from the bahamas. I'd first like to thank all of you for inspiring me to try the 20b conversion into an FC. I've read almost every post on this forum and it was very useful in helping me complete this project.
The following is a list of parts that I used to complete the swap.
- 20B complete w/o computer from rotorworks.com for $3,700.00
- micro tech LTX 12 computer from austrialia $1,860.00(atkins rotory in the us)
- lighten flywheel from mazdatrix $500.00
- ACT four puck racing clucth $300.00
- turbo 2 transmission
- volvo front mounted intercooler
- six single second gen rx7 coils
- automotive boost,oil pressure,water temp,air/fuel and tachometer gauge $300.00
- walbro 255 lr/hr fuel pump $120.00
Because a friend of mine own an rx7 repair shop I was able to get some of the part free. The engine mounts were fabricated and the radiator supports in front of the car cut out and new ones made to plum all the piping to the intercooler and push the radiator foward. The stock sway bar was also pushed slightly foward and new brackets had to be made to bolt it back to the crossmember. Turbos modified to operate in parallel. The micro tech computer work with all the stock mazda sensors and will come programed to run right out of the box.
This project started on january 12 of this year and its been running now for about three weeks. A friend owns a thrid gen twin turbo and I've beat him two weeks in a row. The tourqe is unbelieveable, no upshifting needed not even in fifth gear.
In total I've spent about $8,000.00 including all the welding for the intake, exhaust, brackets and other miscellaneous parts. Well worth it trust me.
Once again thanks for all the information and I apologize for running on so long.
