Well its time to prep for the 20b project. Im looking to give myself a 10k budget for everything. Think i can do it? I do! 20b + big single. Already have the big single. Any last minute inputs from people who have done the swap into an fc is a great help. I need some advice, pointers, warning, etc..

I'll try to get some newer pictures of Beau's for you. One of the problems I remember was getting the hood to fit, But he had plans to go with a sideported motor so all the fabrication was done on a stock motor. The idea was to put a stock motor into the chassis, get everything fit and fire it to get used to the tuning and the car etc etc. Well with the T72, all the modifications and the M/T ET streets on it he is having a problem with major body flex. The car has a 7 point through the dash style Safety 21 roll cage and the car is still twisting. It looks like a kid practiced throwing softballs at the side pillar behid the doors and on the roof. I fear the day the side ported motor goes into the car.

side ported............ peripheral ported? are those the same things?

aside from the 10k, how much time do you plan on spending on this project? plus i think the hood would be the least of your worries

He's actually running a T76 and probably around 550 to the wheels or so on the stock block... The HP's not what's killing the car though, it's the 50% more tork...

You will also have to get a custom front sway bar or just leave it off for the engine to fit and fabricate motor mounts or you can get the ones K2RD sells. You should also pick up a goot twin or triple plate clutch that will run you near 2k to hold the power and tork of the engine as I don't see any single disk clutch lasting for ****. Your also going to need a TEC III or some other computer to make it run and your going to have to upgrade your oil cooling system and radiator to keep the temps down. You also need to modify/make your own upper intake manifold to clear the hood and upgrade your fuel system to handle the extra fuel it's going to need to feed the beast...

That's the stuff off the top of my head...

I got a big checklist off fc3s-pro.com (i believe) that covers alot. I just dont want to get half way into the thing and forget something important! I was going to use either a haltech or microtech, as for my oil cooling, i wasnt sure how i was going to do this, as far as i know no one makes an upgrade for fc's. I thought maybe 2 t2 oil coolers, or 1 rotary extreme monster oil cooler... *shrug*. The clutch is a given, the motor mounts are being purchased through fc3s.org. But how about this UIM, whats the deal?! Every 20b ive seen has the stock uim.
