An old dead REPU that was sitting in a field for 10 years. I also got the carb with intake manifold, oil pan, front cover engine mount, and the front counterweight. Heh, it seemed like every iron, steel or aluminum part had rust/corrosion in one form or another. The inside and outside of the oil pan had a lot of rust. Well, oil floats on water so I guess that's to be expected. Poor thing. At least its parts have gone on to live again. Infact, the rust-damaged oil pan doesn't leak, and is on the 13B that will go into the GLC in a week or two.

I remember getting the front mount back in '97 because my REPU was missing one, so it's been a while. I doubt the truck is still there.

I spent some time with some engine degreaser on the bellhousing. What a mess. It still needs some social interaction with a scraper and then a wirewheel. The 10mm x 1.5 threads in the starter's short bolt hole are damaged because some previous genious mechanic put a 1.25 pitch bolt into it (this actually happens a lot it seems). The flat machined surface where the starter sits is all corroded and bumpy too.
At least the gasket surface isn't all that bad. It's got the occasional intrusion of water damage along its outer edge, but nothing a razor blade can't handle.
Unfortunately, the slider hub is a little damaged from loss of grease. It'll probably be ok though.
