Ok, you're the captain, Mike's the chief, and I'm the profesional. Together, we are the very fabulous hippity-hoppers.

You and him have posted more to this thread than anyone else. That's gotta be worth something to somebody somewhere sometimes, but it means a lot to me... uh right now. Thanks guys.

I might finish the header tomorow. It's almost done.
Cool.Need some pics after you finish it up and let us know how the clearance is.

I got (what feels like) a lot done today. It needs some finishing work where the middle pipe goes into the collector area. Then I can finally weld it all together.

It was kinda nice listening to a walkman on some little mini in-the-ear phones (ear buds?) under some hearing protectors (big ear-muff type things) while I used the dremel. I had a choice between MP3s from my garage PC, or TV audio. They can be transmitted from my little FM transmitter (FX Wave with a mod or two from the C. Crane Company).

The middle pipe is now tacked in place. All it needs is some welding and the header will be done.

It'a all welded up now. The next thing I've got to do is inspect the welds. My welder isn't very powerful, but I used the torch trick and got pretty good results. Heh, at one point, I had two propane torches; one on each side of the flange. The welds are the ugliest around the flange because it is 7/16" thick. I'd make a pass, then wire brush it, then make another pass. Very ugly, but I don't think it'll leak. The collector, on the other hand, had some really tight spaces that I couldn't get the 'torch' into very well. I hope it doesn't leak. I'll snap some B&W CCD pics later.

Cool,So did the little trick do the job then????I hate welding without CO2 but I do some without gas.Hopefully those welds can take the heat of the mighty 3 rotor.

I finally have time to set up the camera today. I'll take some pics in a few minutes.

I spoke with Gary at Atkins and he said the idea to use their 20B manifold in NA form with a carb on top won't work very well.
