600 posts!

It looks like the pipe is between the height of the upper exhaust studs and the rotor housing studs. It think that's too high. I'll need to do some more adjusting before tacking it.

I've been concentrating on the GLC lately. I haven't messed with the MG in about a week.

I propped up the header piece so it matched the middle pipe piece on the 20B flange. It took a while to get it just right. I'll try to start welding on it tomorrow.

I hope it'll be easy to install and remove since the idler arm is really close. I also hope the atkins manifold will fit. I'm trying to keep the middle pipe as low as possible. It looks like it'll be at the same height as the upper studs. Or maybe I was looking at it from the wrong angle. I'll know more tomorrow before I tack it in place.
A you using a 20B flange or still working a pair of 12a manifolds together???

20B flange. Infact, I think I'll go out there and tack it together in a minute.

Remember this pic? It looks like the middle pipe will probably fit under this manifold. If only I had one in real life so I could know for sure.

I don't want to keep this project on hold any longer. I wanna get this header done!

I decided to hold off until I get some confirmation about the dimensions of the manifold. Better safe than sorry?

Check out the ugly weld. The first tack turned out nice looking, but it was too weak so I tried to tack it again. It's strong enough to hold its own weight now, but it sure is ugly!

I could redo the middle pipe if necessary. I'd prefer not to. Check out how high it really is. What do you think? I think it'll be ok.

Sweet.Heres a welders trick to welding with low power migs.Heat up the metal with a torch of any sort before you weld it.The additional heat will make for a stronger bond. Hope this helps. Looks good for clearance now tho.
