I just got a 2 1/8th six point impact socket with 1/2 to 3/4 adaptor. Or would that be 3/4 to 1/2? You know what I'm talkin' about.

Which way are you adapting it?Up or Down?Up would be 1/2 to 3/4,Down would be 3/4 to 1/2.

Now you're confusing me. It's to make a 1/2 impact wrench work with the 3/4 square drive hole on the back of the socket. The next task will be to pull an engine and try to remove the socket with my setup. I know of just the engine to pull too... in preperation for making my MG Midget run again. That will get it out of the garage so I'll have more room to manuver the engine crane while test-fitting the 20B and tranny in the GLC.

So you're adapting a 3/4" socket to a 1/2" drive?Fun.How much more work will your midget take to make it functional again?

Yeah, I've seen lots of 1/2" drive impacts turn several 3/4" drive sockets in my day. To me, it's as natural as using a clutch alignment tool or torque wrench for general engine or tranny work. Tools for cool fools

The Midget needs a brake job most of all. The rest can be dealt with at a later time. Oh yeah, it needs an engine.

That's ok. I need to take my REPU apart again. Something about an OCD and the engine's power output just don't jive anymore. j/k
