Too bad KTeller doesn't know this!

There will probably be a lot of welding for the turbo to intercooler pipe, there needs to be about a 110* angle. At least if I make it myself (cut, the welding will be done by someone who welds for Delta) I know it will be as smooth as possible. I can make a million little pieces to weld together, hehe.

That is the point of the U bend. its a 180deg bend, you just cut 110deg off for your bend and weld what you need on...

I donno if i just read your reply wrong or what, but i dont like the 'pie cut' method

Okay, okay, I'll look at pricing and see...

In the meantime, how do I wire the alternator?

Looks good.I remember being at that point on my T04E setup. Finally got a better stainless manifold so the turbo fits the FB chassis.I need to get the TIG welding done and hook up the last little things on mine. Then I can finally try mine.Your progress is looking good tho.I took me two years to get to this point(Bought a house)and you have done it in alot less time.Congrats!

Turbo FB's can't be made from scratch over night. It's amazing how long it can take to do the simplest thing somethimes.

As far as the ALT goes.... somone posted a pic of the alt wiring for FB,FC and FD's a week or two ago... damnit I wish I could remember the thread..

You don't have to goto burnstainless. Since you know an aircraft certified welder, ask him where to buy prebent sections. He should know.

Open up the yellow pages and start calling industry supply houses. BTW becareful about those aluminum pre-bent sections sometimes. If the alloy isn't specified, it's probably some **** *** alloy that can't be welded. Burns uses 6063 i remember, but i was super duper $$$

I wish I could have had this done a lot quicker, but you know, some things take time.

No kidding, it's the trivial stuff that takes up most of my time!

I actually remembered a local performance shop that stocks 180* bends. I'll check with them first. It's quite difficult to get 3ft of alum from a warehouse! Burns is hella expensive...almost $60 for 2.5" 180* u-bend!

Not sure which altinator you have but here is a pic of my wiring. It is a s4 turboII with a FD alt. The reason for going strait from the B+ to the S on the alt plug was I had some votage drop at the wire harness. 13.3 at the wireharness plug was making the altinator put out 14.6-15.0 volts. Since I made a wire from the B+ to the S on the altinator the output voltage is 13.8-14.2. No problems for 9 months now. The s4 and 1st gen altinator plug is the same. I remember installing a S4 altinator on my 1st gen and it pluged right in.
