will a 1984 gsl se 13b bolt directly onto my 5 speed tranny from an 83? also what company makes the engine mount kit for the swap? thanks, Mike

 

If the engine is complete and directly from a GSL-SE, it will bolt right up. The transmission bolts right up no problem. The front mounts are the same EXCEPT they need to be moved 20mm forward to compensate for the increased length of the 13B engine. What you can do, and its completely safe, is stretch the mounts. Thats what I did and it fit perfect. Or drill holes in the engine mount. Whatever works.



I just dropped an 86 2nd gen engine into my car. We used the 12A front cover and a GSL-SE engine mount to make it fit. Its like plug and play.
