I'm not currently a member of the tri-state club but once i get the car directly in my hands i shall do all that is needed to sign up.

Right now I'm looking at a '93 Touring which is red with a tan interior. The guy is asking $10K, and it is a reputable shop selling it. I planned on driving it today, but have decided to test it on Saturday when the road might be dry/drier(damn snow *shakes fist*). The car was purchased from it's original owner and it is all stock, and they say the engine is running good. he also told me they'd put a bodykit and non-pop-up lights on and the car would only cost $12K, but i'm tring to save every penny i can (by the way, anyone here interested in a 99 Durango?) and don't like the extra weight a bodykit would give me so early into the development of my car. I plan on turning this into a real monster overtime as i have the shop resources at school (lincoln tech) to do most of the labor myself, I'm focusing on Englishtown and trying to keep up with my friends 12-sec Eclipse, and widening the gap between the rx-7 and my friend's 01 type-r :smirk: .

So down to my main point, which I so easily seem to have lost aim at.

The car is red, I am not a fan of red at all (personal thing). I'm in need of a shop to repaint it black but only if it's affordable. The place I may be buying the car from said they'd charge $3500 extra to repaint the car (including door jambs, etc etc).

Anyone know a good shop that would do a complete car color change for maybe $1,500-$2000 if not less?

Thanks and i hope to see you all in person soon/eventually!

$3500 is a good price for a color change paint job in the tri-state area, anything less and the car will probably look like you got a cheap paint job

Just ask exactly what it is they are selling you and gurantees and what not, is the shop registered, insured, certified by the brand of paint they are painting with, etc.

The shop has two guys that have been doing it forabout 15 years. Check out http://www.tuxedomotorsport.com they're in tuxedo, ny (swear to god none of you better go look at my rx-7 or you die, they have two others for sale take those, one is a single turbo for 18,500.)

But i found a lovely red rx-7 with all gunmetal rims, i have now decided red is a great color, for this car .

now what to do about the tan interior....

at the moment, no not really. I didn't get to have my fun with the car up their yet because of today's horrible snowing (well actually i liked it, except it ruined my trip up there).

There could very well be something to my disliking that they didn't point out to me.

But the reason i feel like im leaning towards this car more is because i know my truck is worth more then $10k, but i have no idea if it's more then what you're asking for your car, if you know what i mean....i'm broke.

and with nj insurance i'll go completely bankrupt .

But i'm holding onto your car's info, definitely.

i go to the one in mahwah, we have a guy with an 89 T2, the union one is primarily for deisel mechanics.

the do a good job on the cars at their place. my friend brian just bought a civic si from them and i plan to place my downpayment sometime this week, they're waiting to finish some bodywork on it and then i just have to come up with the other 9,500$ which shouldn't be too hard once i sell my durango
