speakin of which...

is the drivetrain capable of such a load...
Hell no!! I'm sure the cars that are at that level are either just dyno queens, or have HKS dogmissions and 300M axles and all that other good jazz... I don't think the stocker is good for much over 400... Of course, VOSKO could break it on 1 rotor with 40psi of compression... LMAO!

so what parts would you need to help the drivetrain? i know vosko has broken alot of parts(4 trannys and more), but i talked to him, the only iteams i got out of him was, tranny and diff braces, and axles. what else can you get to help make it stronger?

The tranny can take it. The differential can NOT. Wheel hop is your enemy. Wheel hop destroys diff and diff cases.

For a stock drive train, I would upgrade the diff and put a diff/tranny brace on. That should keep everything in place. Even with my 4.777 final gear(which puts more stress on the axles) I have yet to break one(knocks on wood)

Jspec,

Which rear diff are you using? I'm looking at the Cusco MZ and RZ, not sure which is better however. The RZ's seem to be about $150 more in general and if I understand correctly, the torque transfer rate is slower than that of the MZ. Looking for a good vendor too.

I've done full suspension upgrades including rear trailing and toe links, coil overs, etc..to try and eliminate wheel hop and I've had good luck so far with no broken differentials or transmissions. I've been at the 400+ level for some time with no issues. None the less, I'm not taking any chances hence the differential upgrade.

I run one of the cusco units, but I'm not sure of they type. I bought it off of Chris(Dragon). It's a smooth one though...no where near as harsh as the kaaz diff's I've rode in.

What type of suspension do you run in the rear? I run the HKS drag suspension which is uber soft

Hmm, Chris recommended the Kaaz. I know theyre adustable and you can soften them a bit by swapping plates. You probably have the RZ then as it isnt as abrupt.

I have the Tein HAs but I will probably switch to the Aragostas some time this summer. I mostly do road race stuff. Only drag strip in the area is one eighth mile. Kinda boring.

aragostas are great for road racing... Tanabe's new products are great on the track too. and of course, there is always TEIN...

So the compressor on the T04Rs from suppliers like cheapturbo are the same as the HKS versions?
I'm not convinced on the one from cheap turbo. They list the compressor as a 66.5mm when infact the T04R is a 66.7mm... maybe just a typo, I dunno, just be aware.

Also, for all the people that quote having a T04R, they need to be specific if that's just the compressor. The HKS T04R has the GTQ wheel... not a P trim or Q trim. For all the people that only have the T04R compressor wheel and say my "T04R this or that" it can be very confusing since this is NOT the same as the people with an HKS T04R... apples and oranges are being compared here.

I will say that my BB T04R performs great. 15psi by 3500 and 19psi by 3900 from a 3000 RPM stab in 3rd and it pulls all the way. I saw 422 at 16 and 467 at 19psi boost, and I have a few bugs to be worked out.

The HKS TO4R has a P tim cutback/clipped wheel. I have seen it, touched it, taken it apart, and replaced it with a Garrett P trim wheel. The HKaSs US website even shows the same exact specs as a P trim wheel.
