P2004 CEL and P0076 on RX-8 Help

P2004 CEL and P0076 on RX-8 Help
I have a 04 RX-8. Been getting this annoying P2004 CEL for a few months. So far I have read that this is the APV. I have came across some other stuff as well. I have
1. Cleaned the SSV and VDI
2. Tested the 3 solenoids
3. Replaced the APV gear, gasket and screw via Mazda TSB for a MIL P2004
Upon taking the APV motor off, I replaced the white gear at 1 o'clock as instructed. The APV white gear was very easy to turn. Was not seized like some others I read about. Still getting a P2004. Also I get a P0076 sometimes. Wasn't sure they are linked. Suggestions? I need some help
