RX7Aggie - didn't you call me an ******* because I predicted this was going to happen?

You said something about loyalty to Mazda, are you telling me your not loyal anymore??
i said i was loyal and i wouldn't jump on the accusatory bandwagon, jumping the gun and straight up saying mazda lied. i gave them the initial benefit of the doubt, thinking that something else was wrong or the was a milage counter or something.

but since mazda is not loyal to their customers and seems to choose money over customers and a quality product, my faith is dwindling.

and i didn't call you an *******, i called certain people on this forum that were bashing mazda before they had any detail "jackasses", mainly touring94 i beleive.

yall need to quick being suck pessimists about this whole thing! JACKASSES, ALL OF YOU ARE. take a hint from rx8forum guys, they at least back up their banter of the RX-8 with good hard data and explainations supported by an engineering background.

everyone here is just pulling at straws, especially 94touring.

your thinking of this guy, NOT me:

Educated does not mean guessing based on a previous models settings. So your little blurb above falls into category 2 of my desciption of RX-8 forums members. You dont know **** but your good at bullshitting and convincing others you know your ****.

I am not bashing the RX-8 or Mazda. I am plainly disapointed.

I guess we will have to wait a few months until these cars break in and suddenly develope over 35 more RWHP.

Listen here you sack of ****. Don't go telling me what I know and don't know. I work for Mazda, and the last thing I need is some punk assed little kid telling me I don't know what the **** I'm talking about. I've owned over 15 rotary cars in my life and have YET until now, had someone tell me I don't know what I'm talking about. Why don't you pull that piston out of your *** and get ******* real. You'll see a response from Mazda personally on this board, on this forum within the next two weeks. Until then, why don't you go start working on you 350 chevy swap for your RX-7 since you couldnt tell a rotary from a hole in your head.

I'm a jackass? And this is because I was "bashing" a car due to bad dyno results? Or was it because I think its a grocery getter sports car wanna be, with characteristics that aren't appealing to sports car buyers and characteristics that aren't appealing to the grocery getter buyers? Hey, afterall i'm entitled to my own opionion.

Let me say this first. I am far from happy with this outcome as far as Mazda is concerned. I really really really wanted a new rotary powered car in my garage in the next couple of years. I am sad because I refuse to buy a diluted wimp *** POS that mazda is trying to convince us is fast.

While all the other manufactorers are putting out amazing cars as far a HP and performance figures go. Mazda is once again trying convince us that its all about the handling and doing less with more. I am not buying that bullshit. My TII was a fun car stock with its 183 HP. It os now a sick *** car that blows everyones mind when they see it go.

When Mazda wakes up and drops a 3 rotor into a next generation RX-7 I will be in line to buy it. Someone should send the Mazda engineers to Pettit Racing and see what their beloved FD should be like. He is pumping out 500+ HP banzai's one after the other.

We dont need a 500 HP RX-7 we need a 350hp RX-7 that weights about 2800 lbs and costs 35-40K. It can be done.

RX7Aggie - I am not mad at you. I understood your frustration. I have seen this bullshit with Mazda and Ford in the past and had a gut feeling it was happening again.

What the RX-8 owners need to do is tell Mazda to stick their offer up their *** and then FIX their cars like Ford did with the Cobra and get them the claimed horsepower. I would not be satisfied until my RX-8 pulled 215 at the wheels.

Well, RX-8 Forum seems to have the same demeaner as RX7Club. Check this a-holes rant out. He hates me. I think its my Small ***** Corvette Sig. But not sure. It might be that he is slowly comeing to the realization that his RX-8 will have a tough time taking out a Civic.

Funny thing. I was driving home in my daily driver (MX-6) on a secondary highway, when I just happened to be fortunate enough to get behind a Corvette. I dunno how many horses he had, but his chrome-tipped tailpipes reminded me of some kind of wind instrument (church organ maybe?). Now, I'm real sure he felt real good about his steed, girl in passenger seat, went real slow like the kind that says "don't mess with me". Every once in a while though, I guess to show off to that chick, he opened her up. Sounded like he was shooting a machine gun at me! Aack!

Well, you know, I just wanted to keep up to admire her rear end so much (the car's). You know how derned perty thay are!

So, there I was in my, what, 130 hp maybe, MX-6, right behind that sweet rear end. As soon as I could figure (yeah, I was anticipating just such a thing), I floored it too. To my utter shock & horror, I kept up pretty darned well! OK, the show was pretty short-lived, maybe 5 seconds duration, but, heck! He went from 2 car lengths to 6 car lengths. Maybe up to 80 mph .vs. my 70 mph. He never acknowledged my presence back there. I anticipated that too. This happened three times in the distance of about 6 miles down that secondary road. Every time he sufficiently exceeded the speed limit, he slowed down to 50 mph (maybe to keep the rattling down to a minimum). Right away, I would get right back to that 2 car length gap.

If all you want is a Corvette killer, big deal.

I'm keeping my RX-8 cuz it's got to be a Corvette killer. As a matter of fact, I am certain without a shadow of a doubt that it's a Corvette killer. If you don't understand this, forget Mazda, hot shot, & go get yourself an EVO.

You know, I took the night off from this forum due to a total lack of sleep from the other nights earlier. Boy, did I ever pick the wrong night to take off from here!!! The earth has done shattered & the sky done fell right down to the ground!

I've just now spent the whole night doing just one thing. That's trying to read this 18 page thread all the way through. I have lost my religion twice. The first time, I went out with my son on some lame excuse to run to the store (in the 8, this being the whole point of it.) This time, I'm gonna tell you that not only are you the reason for my first fall from grace (after reading the post quoted above), you are also the reason for this second one (with a few minor ones in between).

You are a troll. I went to that sorry excuse of a website to read what our fellow rotary comunity members had to say. I will never subscribe to that forum. I will just make one thing perfectly clear (if a person who would be ranked in category 2 can make anything perfectly clear). Go back from whence you came, take your ilk with you and don't bother coming back.

And that goes for the rest of you trolls out there. If we lived in a perfect world, there would be a way to keep trolls out of forums.

Proud owner of an eight here -

I was kind of in denial myself, "Yes, thats it, it will pass 5,000 miles and light up the tires!" or is it 20,000?

It is surely no RX-7. Overall, the performance resembles my last rotary, my '73 RX-3!

Jeez, Accords have 240 hp!

Don't know what I will be doing, long term. Maybe joining the line-up to turbo it....

I'm not surprised.

Doesn't anyone rember the introduction of the rotary to the US market?

Me either

But I did read about it, Mazda did the same thing back then as well.

Claimed higher HP and then after some units sold the real numbers came out.

The numbers then were also not as high as originally claimed.

I would be pisssed if i had bought a RX-8 but since I didn't I don't mind one bit.

Personally I hope that more people buy the rx8 so Mazda can convince Ford to letting them get back to building their real sports car, RX7.

The RX-8 is still a cool car. It's just not a production sports car.
