hay guys, new here but not to cars & bikes. iam in my 40s, & have built engines from old vw bugs to v8s. i had two 1984 rx-7s, loved them, got me hooked! long story short, i now have a wife & 05 mazda rx-8 ( play car ). the rx has about 50,000 ml. on car, 4,200 mi. on factory replacement engine. (oh yea a/t ). its all stock, i know how to take care of it, so it looks & drives great! only thing is... i miss my rx-7s!!! m/t. ive taken every pm. step i can to get as many miles out of her as i can. i live near the beach ( lots of sand ) so i change my air filter & oil change oil / filter every 1,000 miles. ive been thinking, has anyone put a 1st, or 2nd gen. engine in a rx-8? i serched but found nothing. ( not very good with computers ). iam sure alot of sencers & stuff would need to be changed. i also worked at a steel stamping room for a while so iam not scared to make things fit. just looking ahead, thanks for any info, larry...

 

2nd and 3rd gen RE swaps into RX8s have been done, not that many though. I would say try joining RX7 Club and post your question in the "new member's technical section". I am sure you will get good results.
