is it possible to fit a 3rd gen engine into a 2nd gen car?

Yep. People have put 3rd gen engines in 1st gen cars.



It is not a cake walk by any means though, nor is it cheap...



Personally, I would rather put a '91 TII engine in, and put the extra money into performance mods.

I thought about that swap too, but the question is..y? I mean, like he was saying..just put an 89 to 91 T2 motor in, and spend the extra money on maybe a bigger turbo, fuel mods,exhaust, etc..and you can have a car that will smoke 3rd gens!
