I have finaly desided what car my Peripheral port engine is going to go in, and its my 1967 Avenger GT40 KitCar. I am building a complete tube chassis for it, aimed more at the drag racing side. I am wanting to run nitrous on the car soon after i get it running so i am going with atkins steel apex seals. Now what i am trying to figure out is what i am going to use for an intake. I am thinking of building my own intake with a holley carb spacer plate for the top of it. I would like to use a predator variable venturi carb on this engine, i have used them on my 5.0 mustangs and they worked great. How long of an intake should i have on it? I am guessing to make peak power it will have to redline, 10,500-11,000 rpm. So i was thinking i might want fairly long runners to have high rpm torque.

Longer runners =lower torque peak.

Shorter runners=higher torque peak.

If you can really shift it at 11,000 RPM, you will need runners as short as it is possible to make them.

Lynn, i think you have told me this before but as for exhaust you said multiples of 10 and 12 inches, with a 6 inch collector, then megaphone out to 4 inch diameter pipes.
