I have a 85 rx7 with a 12a engine and I'm considering replacing the factory carburetor. What is the best replacement option with few modifications? What parts are needs? OneHungLOW!

If you have time to wait, you can get a Yaw modded Nikki carb. That way you can use your stock intake manifold.

Either way, to realize the carb's full potential, you need a good exhaust, fuel pump, and pressure regulator.

Where are the Nikki carburetors sold? Here in Durham NC I have the state inspection problem to deal with. I'm not looking for more speed just a car that provides dependable transportation.

I don't know if you can pass smog with one of Paul's carbs or not. Also its at least a three month wait for one.

You could rebuild your stocker, I think I paid about $20ish for my rebuild kit when I had a Nikki.
