would a 6-port motor brap if only the aux ports were bridged?

At idle? no, presuming your aux port valves are functional and therefore closed @ idle.

If the ports are closed, thats definately a no. With them open at idle, it does a little, but it sounds more like a SP than a bridge.

I should go a little more into detail. With the 6 ports open, it brapped somewhat at a 1200 rpm idle. I managed to drop it down to 900, and it sounded more like a SP.
