My freinds (unbeknownst to me) have been talking a lot of **** to the locals and have made several sidebets involving my car at the local 1/8 drag strip. My car isn't really setup for drag... nor have i EVER been down the dragstrip before. I'm one of those road course guys...ya know.. anyway, seems to be alot of people betting my 2 buddies that my car can't break 7.9's or better in the 1/8. What can i expect out of this thing next weekend?? Anybody?
Aggressive half-bridgeported FD, GT35/40R , HKS FMIC, 3 "downpipe only (electric cutout valve at the end of the DP, yes it's very loud) 9.5lb flywheel, ACT extreme clutch, stock gears, and will be on 275's yoko A032R tires. I think thats all the mods that are relavent to this. The car is strong, and has all the other misc mods to support this setup... I just wanna know what my chance of doing this are??
Thanks guys,
Shannon

Do you know your RWHP??
Best I can tell you need to run a 12.00 to 12.20 1/4 mile to hit a sub 8 second 1/8 mile.
I would say you need to be in the 350-375RWHP Range to accomplish that. 1/8 mile is all about launching so traction is the big issue. My car is like yours its set up for track racing so it sucks at standing starts = bad 60' times = bad 1/8 mile. Once she gets moving my 1/4 mile times are nice. But I suffer from the stop.
Good luck!
