ok heres the deal i bought an 86 body with a blown motor in it and then bought an 89 body that had been t-boned but the engine and tranny are still good and heres what i want to do.... I want to swap the 89 motor into the 86 and run the 86 ecu due to the fact that 89+ emessions are computer controlled and im going to be pulling all the emissions off along with the power steering and ac bracket on the side of the motor what i need to know is if there is a site that shows what all i need to keep in the 86 to make the motor work. I know i need to run the 86 injectors and im going to have to premix, i will also be re wiring the afm to run the 89 plus afm. im looking to scrap as much crap as i can and i need to know what vac hoses i can take off and wich ones i have to cap off and what wires i need to keep ect ect. If anyone has ever done a swap like this or knows a detailed website then please hooke me up with the info

thanks in advance

you can do this 2 ways.

1. the 86 and 89 blocks interchange, so you can use the 89 motor with all of the 86 stuff

2. change all the wiring and run all 89 stuff. you can still take off the smog stuff on an 89 but you do have to keep it electrically plugged in, or put in resistors

2.5 run the 89 motor and intakes with the 86 ecu and wiring.
