Unhappy

I just got a short block, an 86-88 n/a, to rebuild. I am getting the 89-91 rotors for it. Should I use the 86-88 rebuild kit or the 89-91? Also, I am looking for the best price on a rebuild kit. Anyone know of someone selling them cheaper than say mazdatrix or rb????

If it's an 86-88 block then get an 86-88 kit. The rotors use the same exact seals.

Check out ebay for auctions by Atkinsrotary. They usually have rebuild kits up for auction.

This is a "post" I have already used, but I'll put it out again:

====================================

I guess this needs posting periodically-

There is NO SET definition of a "Rebuild Kit" !!

Every vendor puts a different combination of parts in their "kit".

We include (in our Rotor Kits) ALL parts that go on a pair of rotors --

We do not include a gasket set (lets us maintain many fewer Rotor Kit part numbers).

Racing Beat includes what we do, + a gasket set

RR includes bearings in their "kit" - we do not, nor does RB

RR does NOT INCLUDE oil control rings ($203 for the set)

RR does NOT INCLUDE side seals ($115 for the set - depends on year)

RR has good prices - their "kit" is $596? - I priced out the same parts, our cost = $592?

Want a cheap "Rebuild Kit"?? how about $91.56 (8 water seals) -

but then you should just buy the 81-82 gasket set ($90.85) - get those seals + much more.

Bottom line (PLEASE!), do NOT compare the "price" of a "Rebuild Kit" from different vendors! Be aware of what is included, and compare the total of THOSE prices.

Most vendors sell ALL those parts individually - maybe you do not want all the parts in ANY vendors "kit" ???

We use all the parts in our Rotor Kits on every engine we build --

You can decide which specific parts you want for your rebuild.
