Every 5th tank I fill up the car with gas and do not add any premix. I think from now on I am only going to put 5 gallons on every 6th tank.

This way I am cleaning out any buildup of premix I may be accumulating.

Do you think this is a bad idea??

How would you know if you're accumulating and where? I ask since I have been going 100 to 1 or more on every fill up for a few months.

would this be a potential reason as to why the gas gauge needle is slow to come up to full at every fill up?

Mine lately has not gone in to full

yea my gas guage rises slow as ****! but anyway i think i accumulate because even when i put less in when i fill up (i like to switch it up) the exhaust still smells of premix and considerable smoke comes out in relation of how much mix i have in,,, or think i have....whatever

My gas guage has always done that.. in fact after like 50 miles, it goes to 1/2 and just sits there lol.

Bigturbo, how much are you putting in?

I am talking accumulation in the tank. I have in the past had problems with plugs fouling so I decided when I am only going to be driving around town to just not add premix and fill it up. This way I know I am sort of cleaning out the system sort of speak.

BTW - I add 4 oz. per tankfull in an FC. I have no OMP. When I race I mix 6oz.

ah, ok thats prolly ok, you dont want to starve the engine for oil, that would be bad

the stock gauges suck.

the oil pressure, fuel, and temp gauges are all junk, they utilize a bimetallic strip which flexes as a result of heating from a wire wrapped around em. That is the motor that drives the gauge, take the stock gauge cluster and throw it as far as you can.
