I had the HKS Hiper first - that one was really loud! Too loud. Then I got the Greddy PE - much better. Now I have the Greddy PE II and first I was dissappointed. It looks like the Hiper and is nearly as loud as that one. The main pipe is a little thicker but the rest is exactly the same. Finally I began to like it. But there is no silencer offered

i was running at laguna seca yesterday and was black flagged for noise. 90 db limit there. spent the rest of the day having to cruise the straight between 5 and 6 where the sound station is.

i have a borla xr1 in the midpipe and racing beat cat back, apexi single, streetport.

cruise and idle are definitely quiter, but WOT is still loud.

got to think of some other options if i'm gonna go to laguna.

Your setup sounds the same as Max Coopers "Voko". I wonder if Edelbroks race exhasut is a beter choice to weld in. If not then what about a muffled MP with a Borla or two Borlas?

Note also that XR-1 is a line of mufflers. The Sportsman and the Race are the two that seem to be most popular for midpipe splicing. The Sportsman is a straight pipe with perforations (holes, not louvers). The Race splits into three smaller perforated straight pipes. The Race costs more and is supposed to be quieter. Both should flow about the same.
