[quote name='TYSON' date='Jul 6 2005, 07:35 AM']Is there something wrong with the Toyota motor that everyone thinks to take it out already? I know there's not much of an aftermarket for it, but I think it's a pretty cool motor. Rebuilding it for boost and adding a GT28RS or GT2871R would make for an insane car!

Why would you put in an SRT-4 motor or 4G63? No way a big lump of cast iron would be going in if I bought one.

Because they are tried-and-true platforms. The motors are bulletproof and there is a large base of aftermarket support for both of them.

I'd love to throw an Alfa v6 in something someday - a Europa would be sweet.

The S2000 swap I saw was in an S1 elise, with the rover K-series engine. In that case, unless its the elise 190, I can see why someone would do that over adding to the engine already in the car

Why is the new Exige some 300lbs heavier? A/C doesn't weigh that much

Basically the new Exige is a different interpretation of an Eelise than the previous model - the last one was a stripped out track car the current one is more of a touring car - that's the best way I can put it.
